As we have previously announced we now have some new forums. These forums weren't meeting our requirements for a number of reasons.

We have shifted to our own forums instead of them being hosted by fourmotion.com. This allows the staff to attach files to our posts nd overall gives us greater control.

You will also notice that the comment system on our site is gone, being replaced with the forums comments. This is so we don't get comments in two separate places. Guests can still reply to the news items without registering.

Hope to see you on the new forums soon.

For some reason when I try to play the Pandora Hearts files on my computer, I don't see any subtitles! I downloaded the CCCP but it's not helping. Is there a specific player I should be using?

Most people agree that Media Player Classic or ZoomPlayer are the best, they come with CCCP

There are a lot of alternatives, like MPlayer and VLC, but I like Zoom. Make sure that for whatever program you do use that the subtitle track is checked off in the menus.

No K-lite is evil.

CCCP is designed for anime, while K-lite installs all kind of crap.

Anyway the first thing to try is to download Insurgent from the CCCP page and run it. It will tell you if you have any other codec packs installed, which could conflict.

Yes you should use either Media Player Classic Home Cinema or Zoom player.
Right click Filters -> DirectVobSub -> Show Subtitles should be ticked

Againg Right Click Filters -> Filename (usually last option) S: English should also be checked.

If that doesn't work go back to Insurgent.

Click on Tools -> Test render and select the episode and post the results it will at least tell us that everything is working properly.

I would recommend a uninstall/re-install too but it sounds as if it's a recent install.

Like I said k-lite installs a lot of junk which you don't need. And the more you install the more likely they will conflict with each other or something else on your system.

CCCP has the minimal you need to watch anime and it plays everything. *.mkv *.mp4 *.avi *.flv *.ts etc

K-lite installs everything with default settings, whcih are not the best settings. By default H264 only uses one core for example.

With CCCP everything has been customized for the best settings and with extensive testing.

So you will get the best performance with CCCP.
A new version of CCCP come out yesterday so give that a shot. Smile

My encodes are guaranteed to work with CCCP but not with k-lite.

Oh yeah and if you continue to have have problems with subtitles click on autoload vsfilter when intstalling CCCP and see if that works.

No. If you continue to have problems with subtitles, download K-Lite and all your problems will disappear. Wink

No it wont. Vsfilter is what you use to display subtitles so regardless of what codec pack you're using, you will use Vs filter. That option just forces it to load with media files. It's designed so it will load subtitles even if you're using a player that doesn't support subtitles like windows media player.

And if you're having trouble, changing codec packs is not going to fix the problem. The only thing it could do is make things more of a mess. You need to fix the underlaying problem.

The truth is the best solution is not install any codec packs. But install & configure all the filters manually. But as most people a) don't know what they need b)don't know what they are doing c)are lazy. That's why there are codec packs to make it as hassle free as possible.
